Tis the Season...

On Thanksgiving, Emilia had some mashed potatoes and did not like them. That is probably because they weren't all "doctored up" (as we say in my family) with butter, sour cream, chicken broth, etc., etc. Poor thing.

Our first Thanksgiving with out little turkey.

For this special holiday, we had a special visitor for dinner. Thanks Aunt Kaye for coming up to see us!

Emilia had a ball looking for Daddy's gray hairs. Just kidding, just kidding. However, I just had to put this one up here because her focused face and her stinky little foot without a sock.

Emilia and Daddy.

Aunt Kaye and Emilia, best buds.

First time with a sippy cup.

Emilia putting on the tree her very first ornament that we bought for her last Xmas at Disneyland.

There is just something about a Xmas tree with white lights that thrills me. When I get my mantle decorated too in the next day or two, I plan to take lots more pics, so stay tuned :-)

6 Months Down

Emilia turned 6 months old on the 16th. I love being this little girl's Mommy. I have to say, it was really tough there for awhile. She was crying constantly and I am pretty sure she was not getting enough out of nursing. I was feeling pretty much like I was going to lose my mind there for awhile. Ben kept saying how he didn't think other babies cry as much as ours' does, but for some reason, I was in denial that she could be colicky or that she just wasn't getting enough from me, especially since I was determined to keep breastfeeding. I kept telling Ben that we really didn't know any different and I was pretty sure infants cry alot. Wake up, Jessica, it is not supposed to be this bad, something is probably wrong!

In the last month or so, she has become a formula baby and is far over the period of being colicky (if that was the case) and boy, oh boy, is life so much more grand! My baby is happy almost all the time, I can finally distinguish between her cries because now there are only like "two" compared to "all day". Ben just recently went to Hawaii for a couple of days and I told him when he got back that Emilia was pretty dang good for me, but if he would have gone a couple of months ago, he "probably would not have come home to a child". haha. Okay, that really isn't that funny, but I sure all you mama's can relate. But anyway, sometimes you just gotta do what's best for your child, even though it is not exactly what you had planned for them. And again, I just wanna say, all around, we are a much happier family now and enjoying so much more memories with our precious baby!

Oh, and there were days that it would take me an hour and a half just to get her down for a nap, which would only be for like 15 minutes (which was well deserved on my part). Then one day a couple of weeks ago, it was the wierdest thing, she finally got tired of putting me through Heck, and decided to get on a schedule. Since then, like clock work, she has been taking two naps during the day. Yeah for me!

And, Emilia has now been introduced to Bananas (liked, but Mommy was not a fan of the diaper results), Green Beans (liked), Mango (didn't like, which is not common in this household), Carrots (like)....and we plan on a little potato and yam come this week.

Here are her stats and some recent fave pics:

Weight: 13 lb, 14 oz.
Height: 26.25"
HC: 41.3 cm
Sorry, I can't seem to find the percentiles on her records, but I am sure you can tell she is small for her age :-)

Emilia chillin' with her favorite toy, Mommy's cell phone. Btw, look at those gigantic feet...the only body part that is probably in the 100th percentile for her age.

Okay, so I swear that a high chair is on the shopping list...

My favorite pj for little kids: long John's, which would not be complete without a little "full" diaper hanging out in the middle

And, for your "clapping" pleasure:

Halloween & Gammy

This is my Gammy who came to visit me for my 1st Halloween. She is so special but lives so far away from me that I only get to see her sometimes. What a great (trick-or-) treat it was to have her here!

Here we are at the Seattle Temple. I know you people are probably getting tired of seeing me in my red beanie, but it is chilly outside!

I must be getting ready to taste my first snowflake...hopefully not anytime soon.

Look at all the pretty colors at the Temple...Fall is definitely here.

My Gammy and my Mommy.

This was my family at the Ward Halloween Party. Daddy and Mommy baked me in the oven using Mommy's (Betty Crocker) recipe. Daddy, the baker, worked really hard on the inside of me, while Mommy spent lots of time frosting and sprinkling me!

After I went Trick-or-Treating.

Believe it or not, I actually was really good in my costume, this picture is of me after someone whistled really loud to get everyone's attention...right when Mommy snapped the shot.

Okay, I am cute, I am just going to say it.

October is Proving to be a Huge Month for Miss E

Emilia is one day shy of her 5th month bday. What a way to celebrate: Emilia finally fits into her Guess Jeans, and only jeans thus far, (eat your heart out all you Guess Jeans Girls, you got nothin' on my gal!) and her first taste of real world food (well, sorta real world)!

Not a great one of Mom, but "oh, so cute!"

Emilia's First Halloween (Trip to the Pumpkin Patch)

We were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa come with us to Emilia's first trip to the Pumpkin Patch. The "patch" had everything from a hay ride, to Apple Cider Slushies, to a mini barnyard animals' zoo, to a corn maze, even to a canon shooting small pumpkins...which, Emilia pulled the lever! Here are some pics of our day and some other recent pics:

So cute, my girl keeping herself warm (even though it did not feel at all like October in Washington) in her hoodie.

Emilia at home still enjoying her new hoodie.

I wonder how big our little pumpkin will be next year.

Emilia and Daddy on the hay ride... Grandpa, of course, taking non-stop video action in the background.

Emilia and Mommy searching for the best pumpkin ever...well, come to find out, the best pumpkin ever was like $30, so we got the CHEAPEST best pumkin ever!

So amazed and amused by the corn.

Well, we all were!

Daddy fits his in more ways than one, Emilia just looking for some grass, and mommy looking pretty as always...yep, that about sums it up :-)

Okay, it's been awhile since I said anything about Bailey. She is still a princess.

Still loves the chair, but now she likes chewing on her socks while sitting in it.

After church... because we felt like it!

Dance, acrobats, cheerleading - we are still deciding.

The two cutest people in my life.

A fave

The Many Faces of Emilia

Emilia cracking herself up.

Emilia questioning ("huh, what's that you say, I look like a boy? Why don't I come over and just beat you up?")

Emilia playing along (with Daddy's cookyness)

Emilia intrigued.

Emilia happy.

Emilia annoyed (at Daddy, if I might add).

Emilia surprised ("You don't say?")

Emilia working a deal (reminds me and others who know the story of "Dan'l" at the Mexican border- We love you, Gampa!)

Emilia shocked beyond belief (that Obama's approval rating has dropped... I knew that would happen, how come she didn't?)

4 Months Old

Yesterday was our 4 month appt. Emilia's stats are:
Weight: 11 lb. 10 oz. (9.31%)- she has dropped in weight :-(
Height: 24.5 " (55.9%)
We find our little lady usually on her tummy these days playing and talking to her toys. She rolls around and has the most feisty attitude...even more than me! Her Daddy says that he will be happy when this stage is over- the one where she cries and cries and cries and putting all the usual stuff aside, she just keeps going and we have no idea what to do for her. I keep telling him, though, "You just wait, then come the 'Terrible Two's', and you think she has an attitude now....wait until she goes through puberty, you will be wishing you were back here".
